In 1947 when India won her political freedom in conditions of extreme suffering and through much struggle,

Sri Aurobindo described his five dreams:
1) India’s freedom,
2) the rise of Asia as a global power,
3) the awakening of a vaster international human unity,
4) India special gift of spirituality to the world,
5) a next step in human evolution.

And for all these five dreams Sri Aurobindo had worked throughout his life. We are mostly conscious only of his work for the first dream, India's freedom. But as that work developed, the scope of his responsibility was widened to include all these, but the bulk of his work was done on a occult and spiritual plane, whose results we are seeing even today and will continue to see for a few more centuries, because Sri Aurobindo worked not for the immediate future of a few years or decades, but for an entire millennia or more, as the Mother pointed out.

In this DVD Sraddhalu Ranade dwells on the deeper sense of each of these dreams and their dependence on India’s spiritual reawakening and our role in the effort.
