Preparing for the Miraculous
Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have laid the foundations for a new step in the evolution of life on Earth. According to them, the mental human being is not the ultimate species. It will be followed by a supramental being with the characteristics our dreams are made of, and prepared by a variety of intermediary beings, just like there were intermediaries between the primates and Homo sapiens.
This ongoing evolution is a spiritual evolution, only possible through what looks to us as a series of miracles. “Certainly, this will not come about easily or by a sudden and at once entirely satisfying change and magical transformation,” wrote Sri Aurobindo. “The advance, however it comes about, will be indeed of the nature of a miracle, as are all such profound changes and immense development, for they have the appearance of a kind of realized impossibility.”
